Hello all, it has been a long time since i have blogged. We are into the third week of school and i am so glad that we have the long weekend to enjoy our CNY celebrations. It was great starting this week with a lovely surprise from OnceUponASketch.

I won the Jan 1st Challenge and hence, i was given the lovely opportunity to Guest Design for them for the whole month of Feburary. I cant wait to show you guys on what i have designed for them. Maybe a litle sneak peak will do?

Do watch out for this space right here when the next challenge comes out. Do check out their blog also. I am so in love with the ideas of using sketches for inspiration.Haha, as you can see.. i am still very much in love with the farmhouse collection. I have never been that mad for one collection before.

was a day of destashing and reorganizing... i am so tired just thinking of how much work i have done.

But seriously.. How do you guys store your layouts?

I have to admit that my layouts have grown in layers and they are so hard to store. I literally had to pull out all of them from its original album and stack them up one by one.

Maybe i should just leave this cubicle solely for extra layered layouts. Do share if you guys have any tips? In any case, i outdid myself for the year 2011. These were the number of layouts i scrapped for the year. Looking at all of them makes me uber happy! It means that i have USED my stash well. (:

Week 2

Making another post for this week.. i guess one of my resolutions would be to blog more regulary. Hahah. Week 1 is over and i am so glad that this weekend was a time to catch up with sleep, time with family members and to do a little scrapping in between. In any case, i am still pretty apprehensive with my new classes. It is like starting all over again and sometimes u just need to trust that you will come to love the classes you teach.

Okay, here is bringing you a layout for this week. i squeezed in precious time to complete this layout and i am so glad i finally started using my prima flowers again. With the new CHA coming and knowing that flowers are one of my weaknesses, i just needed to clear them. This is also done for this New Year's challenge for Once upon a Sketch.

This layout is about reminiscing on feelings for NYE.. "We used to meet at the playground, play with fire crackers and to countdown towards the New Year back in those days.."

Argh, i miss the old days of being young. Haha. In any case, i will be turning a year older in two days time.

Its going to be a quiet bday this year, with a regular school day, meetings thereafter and probably a small celebration with the family at night. I hope you have an awesome week ahead. :D

the new year

Wow, it is my first post for 2012. Today was the first day of school and it was really tiring. But it was good to see familiar faces, even the kids.. I hope this would be the start of a good year. I thought i would drop by to share my first layout for 2012. I figured that i should scrap more before the work piles up or considering that CHA Winter is coming up.

Here is to share a layout on my New Year's resolution. I thought the focus would be on family resolutions.. I am so glad that i have finally used up the polaroids my sister and i took in Dec. This layout was also done for the Get Picky Dec Inspiration Challenge #15

Sharing what the journalling reads .. " in 2012, i want to be a better daugther, to learn to forgive and forget, to love and to hold the people around me, to cherish the everyday moments, to take more initiatives to help around the house and to draw closer to God."

I am glad i chosed to use OA's farmhouse for this layout. Plently of old vintage family papers and embellishments to play along. Still very much in love with this collection and i can bet the next few layouts will be using this collection. (:

Happy New Year

Wow, it has been almost a month since i last blogged. The holidays have zoomed past so fast that i need time to catch my breath and prepare myself for 2012. How has everyone been? HK trip came and went and before you know it, christmas preparations came along and i have quite a number of lovely christmas celebrations. Right now, i am about to get ready for tonight New Year Party. (: It has been a fantastic year and looking back, i have so much to be thankful for. God has provided in so many aspects and he has indeed blessed me with a lot.

Sharing some christmas scrapping here.. this year was kept really simple. I tried the impossible task of giving my good friends each a canvas piece last year and it was so taxing on me. This year, it was all about practicality.

Each of my friends receive simple MUJI To Do List Notepads and each was decorated with love. Thank God for MUJI in Hong Kong where they were cheaper. I love how this can be placed at our workdesk for easy reference. I hope they enjoyed it as much as i loved decorating it. :D

I hope i will be back with more scrapping stuff to share. For now, i have been quite lazy and busy catching up with work preparation for the new term. Here is wishing everyone a Happy 2012. May we reach towards our goals in this coming year and may it be filled with joy and contentment. (:

Here we go

At this time tomorrow, i would be in my favourite city in the world. I simply cant wait.. You must be wondering what is so great about Hong Kong? Well, people do say it is pretty much the same as Singapore but i cant put into words why i love the place. I love the people, the food, the shopping and i love how vibrant the city is. It is like a city that never sleeps - the culture and the lights and the atmosphere... HEAVEN! :D

So before i go, i am going to sneak in here for a quick last post. I managed to complete 2 layouts yesterday, in the hopes of me sharing with you guys.

First up, this layout is for this week's Sketchy Thursday Sketch. Well, if you havent check out the latest OA's Farmhouse collection, you should certainly do so. I thought the grid paper would match this week's sketch quite nicely and i did some clusters of circles. I love this childhood picture of mine and it was finally fitting to use it in a layout.

Last but not least, i said earlier that i had to rush out another layout before tomorrow because this layout is going to be brought along with us to Hong Kong to give to my auntie. She has shown hospitality to us whenever we go to Hong Kong and offers us her house to stay and brings us to all those awesome places to eat. We cant thank her enough.

I left a space in the layout for her to put a picture of her family. I hope she likes it as much as i enjoyed making it.

I know I know

i havent been blogging for quite some time. Before you know it, 2 weeks of the holidays have passed. Wow, i have been seriously slacking my life away. And because of that, i havent had much chance to scrap. I should be scrapping but i have been too busy catching up on all my drama serials. Haha. Well, the good news is that i finally started scrapping today since i needed to get a layout done before Tuesday, which i will share in another post.

For now, have you checked out Get Picky's Inspirational Challenge #14. I was given the lovely opportunity to guest design for this challenge. This challenge was all about using words to document on whatever story you wanted to tell. I chose to document about Kate turning 3 and her current quirks and loves at this age.

So as you can see, I chose to leave a lot of space for journalling and this was using my remaining papers and bellies from the OA's SideWalk Collection. So thanks again to Get Picky for the lovely opportunity to showcase my layout for this challenge. (:

Next, I was featured in Prima's October BAP.

Well, it was one of my favourite layouts made by Prima Products and i am glad that they loved it too. :D

Lastly before i go, this last layout is a Chritmas layout done for the Dec 1st Challenge over @ OnceuponASketch. I was really drawn by the idea of scrapping about what the things i look forward in December. The Christmas Tags were all distressed with Tim Holtz's Winter Seasonal dies and each tag is labelled with sentiments for this Christmas.

"If you do not know, Christmas is my favourite Season of the year. Quite frankly, the festive season makes my heart warm and what i look forward the most is spelt out in the layout : Faith, Love, Joy and Family. This is the essence of Christmas (December), to celebrate the blessings that He has given to me."

So this would be my last post before i leave for a short break to HK. I simply cant wait to be back at my 'second' home. Have a great week ahead. :D

SCHOOL IS OUT!

Hello everyone, the school term has officially ended and i am so relieved that i can start enjoying my holidays. Other than a few CCA duty, i am pretty much a free person now. This week has been busy yet fufilling. There were 3 days of Staff Envisioning and activities were packed from 7 am to 5pm. I came back tired each day. But there are 2 good news to share with you today..

First up! It was good to wake up on Monday morning to this.

I have won GET PICKY Inspirational Challenge #13 for this layout. Thank you Get Picky for choosing me as the winner among the many who have participated. I am honoured that i will be playing a part in their next challenge so watch out for this space. If you guys do not know GetPicky yet, it is a site that provides 2 challenges each month, one would be a multi-photo layout challenge as well as a inspirational challenge based on photo/word prompt. Our local scrappers such as Piradee Talvanna and Emeline Seet were DTs with Getpicky too.(:

Up next, i was featured in Crate Paper's November Colour Challenge. Even though i did not win, but it was such a wonderful opportunity to be posted on the website. I have been CP's fan since they came out with their Restoration Collection and ever since then, i have been faithfully buying each line. Needless to say, my favourite lines yet would be Random and Portrait Collection.

So before i go, i would just share one layout that i did quite awhile back but have not been able to post pictures of it. Using the Sidewalks Collection from OA, this layout brings back wonderful memories of playing school dress up during one of my friend's 21st bday party.

I simply adore this collection for OA. I have done like 5 layouts and 1 album using the collection pack. Will post the other layouts and album once i find time to take some pictures.

It is all about the

..journalling! Back when i first started scrapbooking, i used to loathe penning down my thoughts on my layout as i thought my ugly handwriting would destroy the whole page. Even though i am still afraid to do so now, but i am learning to let go of those initial fears and just do it. This was apt for these 2 layouts i did this week.

First up, a layout for Sketchy ThursdayDec DT Call. It was all about scrapping about something that we were thankful or grateful for. I took the opportunity to use the new Head Over Heels paper by Lily Bee.

This layout was to document the 14 years of friendship i have with the closest friends i had since i was Primary 5.I love how the sketch inspired us to do some misting and stitching in the layout.

The journalling reads:
"Since 1997, we have become an inseperable force to be recoken with. We have seen the best and the worst in each other. I'm so grateful and thankful for our friendship.

Up next, i saw this sketch from Once upon a Sketch and i was so eager to play along. We had to scrap at least 2 sentences on when and why we started scrapping. It was such a fun sketch to play along since i had never thought of documenting this down. Since we were not limited in the amount we could journal, i took the opportunity to write as much as i could.

Interpreted the tickets in the sketch for journalling cards and did a cluster of flowers and birds as well as swirly stitching to complete the look. The focus of this layout was really on the journalling. As for when and how i started, let me share...

"The love for scrapbooking started in Dec 2008 with only initial plans to do something different for Christmas but this quickly trancended into a hobby. I just liked the idea of collecting memories and having an outlet where my energy could be spend on something that was of value. While it is good to buy pretty papers and embellishemnts, what is more fufilling is to record the story down. Pictures speak a thousand words but the journalling tells the story one step further and thats what i treasure most about scrapbooking. Years later, the words that you have written would matter more.

This struck me more when Mum glanced through a family photolog i did in 2010 and this is what she said "You have really done an amazing job to put in details that touched my heart and soul." Those words made me realise that what you scrap matters to whoever reads or receive it. It keeps the memories for life. "

I hope it inspires you today to think about why we scrap. What we are doing is far more than a hobby; we are memory keepers for ourselves and the people we love.

Long weekend

I hope you guys are enjoying your long holidays. It has been a fruitful week and i am spending more time at home with friends and family. it is great to not go out too often since i am so broke for this month. I just got a new camera over the weekend and it is damn awesome! Thanks to LDS and i hope i am in time to claim my 400 dollars. :D The quality of the camera is so good, that is far beyond my photography skills.

Much to share.. 2 layouts for this week!

This layout is for my parents. Look at how clear the picture came out! Did this for the Prima's BAP sketch for November. I loved how this layout came around, given that the papers were won from Leena's recent giveaway. The lovely Melody and Moulin Rouge collection in which i missed buying when it came out. :D

This second layout was done for this week's ST challenge, using the lovely Emma Shoppe's Collection. As you can see, i gessoed the side with a SC's mask and did some layerings.

I am so glad i am running through my old collections and using them up! I am going out soon for yet a night of dinner and karoake. I hope you have a great week ahead. :D

It feels good

to wake up on a Tuesday morning at 10am. As you can see, school is kind of officially over. Other than reporting for invigilation and going back to the staff room from time to time, i am pretty much free now! Yipee!

So i guess that calls for more scrapping right? I have been creating a lot of layouts lately and some of which, i have yet to post it up. Will find the time when it arises. For now, this layout was inspired by Get Picky's Oct Photo Prompt Challenge. If you check it out, you will realise we had to work with really bright and contrasting colours. I dont know what came over me but i found it quite intriguing and decided to give it a shot, considering that i dont really like BRIGHT colours. :D

Here is my take:

Part of the challenge was to use fabric so i used my Dear Lizzy's fabrics that i have kept for the longest time, selected all the colours, cut them into strips and use them as a background. I needed the colour blue since it was seen in the photo so i misted the background with TA's Jack Frost. Well, it was not enough as i wanted more blue to bring out the elements in the layout. If you look at the close up photos, i embossed a texture fade die into a Pink Paislee paper as well as cut out a heart shape at the side of the photos. The heart shape was painted with gesso over a mask and was distressed with Tim Holtz' Tumbled Glass distress stain.

WAHHHH! Sounds so technical but i thouroughly enjoyed myself. I am learning to challenge myself to go beyond cut and paste. Finally, i finished some touches with some faux sticthing, journalling and adding FLOWERS AND FABRIC FLOWERS! :D All the more to make me grin as i use up my flower stash. :D

On the side line, you might have realised that i have been using a lot of white cardstock recently and with all those scraps left, i decided to change the way i tracked my mists and stains. My earlier system did not work so i cut up the scraps into equal sizes and misted on them for easy reference.

Not the first time you heard about it but it certainly works for me! Well, that is it for today. Have a lovely Tuesday ahead. :D

faux stitching?

Hello! Another two more layouts to show since i have been on the stitching frenzy. The first layout is where i scrapped about the lovely Tai Cheong's Egg Tarts from HK. I have never been a fan of egg tarts but was completely sold when i tried these. They melt in your mouth and the tarts are so darn delicious. You guys should try if you're in Hong Kong.

Look at the stitching done at the side. That took quite a lot of time but i am glad it came out nice. :D

Up next, a little trick to share with you. Notice the difference between this and the earlier layout. From far, the stitches look like they were done by a sewing machine but in actual fact, there was no sewing done. :D

So how did i do it? Simply adhere your shapes onto the paper first. Draw straight lines using your pencil or pen. Use your piercer and pierce through your paper and VIOLA! Faux stitching appears!!

Cool right?

sew easy?

I dont know whether you face the same problem as i do but a few months back, i bought the sew easy tool and i have been facing some major difficulties. it does not pierce as well when it comes to thicker cardstocks and maybe it is just me, but i am finding it hard to row the tool in a straight line..

So i figured why not use my piercer and try to sew? And so i did.. Well, no sticthes are meant to be perfect and mine was certainly not but i really loved how it turned out. It adds so much more textures to the layout.

Using some Studio Calico papers, mask and mists - punching out different circles and layering them. This is why i love SC papers, their papers speak volume! i dont really need to embellish much. :D

Well, praying that I get better too. I had a sudden bout of high fever last night. Amazing since i have no cough or flu. It worries me.

I have finally finished all the marking! The holiday can officially start! Haha, what a weekend! I just cant wait for school to be over so that my travel trips can start! :D On the scrapping front, have you checked out GetPicky? They are celebrating their 1 year birthday bash and there is just so much inspiration seen from all the designers. I decided to join in the fun and participate for this month's sketch. :D

Notice the embossed swirls on the circles? Haha, the wonders of a Big Shot! Haha can you see i am trying to use up all my prima flowers? I overbought during the sales period and i had so much trouble trying to fit all of them into my original box. Right now, everything is fitted in. I used up like half of my stash of flowers already! Happy happy! :D

is indeed fragile. One momenet you are here and the next moment you aren't. Tragedy struck upon one of my students today. My heart goes out to her and wherever she is right now, i pray that her wounds would be healed in God's name. Sometimes when one decides to go, i wonder whether one knows what it feels to be left on this earth to deal with the consequences thereafter. What is it like to still breathe but not feel like you are living?

Made 3 green leaves at the right hand side, using some Jack and Jill papers and white gel paint. The other 2 white leaves are on the flowers itself. Also wrote 5 things i am thankful for on the journalling spot below. I am so glad Beth is ours to love. :D

Kate turns 3

I am feeling a whole lot better today. I prayed about it and i am sure God is in control even as i try to clear up the mess. Right now, i am still marking my exam scripts. 4 more classes to go before next round of papers come in on Thursday.

On Friday, my dear Kate turned 3. She was in such a cheery mood and i am so glad she enjoyed herself. From baking cookies, to collecting her bday cake to eating at the ship to running around the shopping centre to singing and cutting cake.. it amazes me how fast time has passed. She has grown up into such a beautiful girl. She has developed her own quirky yet independant personality. I am so glad she is my niece. :D

Sharing a LO i just did on her 3rd birthday! (yeah, i have been taking secretive breaks in between marking!)

This is also done for this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch and Prima's Oct PAP's sketch. Look at her! She looks so happy and engrossed. :D She loved the gummies on the cake. :D

What a week..

It was an eventful week to say the least. Exam papers are in and i majorly screwed up in one of my invigilation. Well, to cut the long story short.. the HOD and Exam Comm are aware so lets hope that things will get resolved. What is up with me lately? Meeting bad parents, screwing up procedures or having demanding colleagues... i just wish there were less problems.

I was reminded of this verse today: Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It is a verse that never fails to give me peace in my heart. My heart might be far away from God but i am reminded that his love is unfailing and He is in control.

Well, lets not end the post so sadly. Firstly, I was named a favourite for this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch. YEAHHH! :D

As you can see, i am finding more time to join challenges and to tell you the truth, it can be really fun! :D Another LO to share. This was a non-photo LO and i am in love with it. It looks really canvas like, dont you think? Using all stamps, inks and distress inks to do it up.

See the paints on the leaves? Simply use a paintbrush and find suitable colours from your mists/hueys, dab in your paintbrush and paint away! I love how it adds shimmer once you are done! :D

Nantucket love

Hello! I am back with another update, this time I am going to share some of the layouts i did based on Pink Paislee's Nantucket Collection. Initially, i was hesistant to buy some of the papers/embellishments as i was afraid that the pictures i printed might have to be beach related. But i was so bought in by the colour palette that i didnt really care whether there were lobsters or fishes on them. (:

First up, using some of the papers to do my HK pictures to the Peak. I thought it would match well with the papers. Lots of SC's white mist and stamping. I loved how it turned out, something a little different from my usual style.

Up next, i figured that i wanted to use the same idea of misting and stamping so that i could play along with this week's Sketchy Thursday's sketch. Here is my take on the sketch.

Still using the same concept, but adding colours to the stamps itself and fitting in some boxes. It was simple and easy! I am glad i managed to finish it today. With work piling up, i can only pray i find time to scrap.

Lastly, i have a piece of good news to share. I finally purchased my big shot machine.

Was considering whether to get the original black and pink one or to get the limited edition one. I figured it will be much cooler to have a machine that less people owned. Yes, after 3 years of scrapping.. i have conceeded to this machine. I have to limit myself on which dies to buy! I cant wait to buy from Joann.com during their sales. The dies in Singapore are way over priced, need to wait for 45% off again! (:

These days..

are busy and tiring! it is nearing the exam period for the kids and right now, we are in the midst of intense revision and marking of scripts. I just got to hang in there another week. (:

On the scrapping front, i am finding it much easier to churn out 8.5by11 layouts as they save more time and are much more fun to do! Haha. Did you check out Sketchy Thursdays' sketch this week? Here is using the latest Studio Calico products and doing my own interpretation to this sketch. I am loving how simple mistings and playing with shapes can work well on a page.

Using some jazz blue glimmer mist, calico white and calico custard. Woweeeee! I love butterflies! Haha. But the saddest thing was losing one of my butterfly mask after just one day! Now i am down to 4 instead of 5. Oh well, i will find it soon!

Reflections

During Teacher's Day, I was awarded an unexpected award. Prior to that, there were already students telling me personally that they voted for me and i was quite surprised as these were coming from students that I constantly loved to nag and scold at. Jokingly, i told the class to not vote for me as I loved being in the background and do not like going on stage in front of the school. They laughed.

I knew the chances were not high and I didnt take it too seriously. On that day, the usual top guns were named and my name popped out of nowhere. Stunned, as the cheers rang throughout the hall. And then my name was called as the winner. Most Caring Teacher Award. What did I do to deserve this? I was definitely not one of the best teachers in school and there are times where i question whether i am an effective teacher in the classrooms.

I am honoured.I scold them but hopefully, they see that it is my way of caring for them and reminding them to buck up. I treat them as friends at times and hopefully, they see that teachers can be relatable and approachable. I try to produce the best lessons and notes and hopefully, they see that learning can be fun and easy. I have my off days when they test my patience but hopefully, they see that i am only human. Most importantly, i share my personal experiences and lessons learnt so that they realise that education is important for them to shape their own futures.

It was not my first job choice and i do question my intentions of joining the teaching force but it's little moments like these that makes you feel that what you are doing is worthwhile.

Showing you another project that i did for my house. I decided to do an artist tray so that Mum can display in the dining area. It fit perfectly with the white walls. Using lots of Pink Paislee goodies and webster pages, along with my favourite dollies that i have recently finished using. :(

All things white

I am sure everyone knows about Studio Calico's white mist. Everyone has been raving about it but i never got my hands on them. Its funny how one product could be sold out in an instance. So i decided to improvise and made my own mists. I bought white paint, put two tiny spoonful of it into my mini mister, mixed with water and viola! out comes spurts of white blots. (:

Well, i am proud of myself for experimenting with these mediums as i am so not a technical person. So from my made-to-do white mists, i made the following stuff..

Notice the white blots? They are as good as your tattered angels mists and much cheaper too! Loving the CP's Random collection and i gesso-ed the sides of the LO to give some textures.

A few weeks ago, Jo and I ordered items from Joann.com and our stuff finally arrived. I went crazy over their K&Co stuff because the items were so ridiculously cheap. 12by12 pads were going at US$6 dollars and each of their fun packs were priced at around $4. I simply could not resist.. So in the light of that shipment, i made a bday album, marking my 1/4 of a century life.

Notice the white paint? I used the prima's mask and painted over it. Each page is also splattered with white. (:

I dont know about you but i am a sucker for travel lines. I love to travel and what better way to document a trip but buying pretty travel papers. When i first heard about Amy Tangerine coming out with her new line, i was apprehensive as her style is so different from mine. But i was so wrong! Have you checked out this line yet? The colour combinations are to die for! I knew i had to grab some before they were sold out.

I finally decided to be less lazy and did an album to document my HK trip in June.

Notice the snowflake flower in the center of the album? I bought this from my very good friend's online scrapbooking store. You should check it out! She is selling such pretty flowers, metal charms/tags and other embellishments for such afforable prices. i was so in love with these flowers that i bought quite a few. (: Check it out HERE!

Snokeflake flower again! Simply couldnt resist it. Layer it with patterned paper and dollies and it really does make your page pop out! :D

Up next, another layout that i completed last week using the OA's BOARDING PASS collection. How can i resist not buying this? Ever since i saw it on their blog, i knew i had to get them, esepcially when they named one of their papers after Hong Kong! Hahahaaha.

So yup, in honour of my love for that place.. I used the papers to document my trip back from 2 years ago to HK/Guangzhou. (:

Okay so sorry for this crazy post on travel lines. My mind is still suffering from all the amount of marking/preparation of lessons mode. The next two weeks will be hell crazy since i am down from invigilation.

Back after almost 3 whole weeks of not blogging! I hope everyone is fine. I need to force myself to update this blog regulary. The scrap mojo has been so on and off and it amazes me how i can still buy stuff from the store but be too lazy to scrap. I am pretty much a hoarder now! Haha. The long weekend came in handy and i realised why the laziness crept in. My scrapbook area is so messy that i cant even remember what i have. Hence, i did a major declutter session from yesterday till today and GOT RID of a lot of stuff.

I do have a free giveaway to anyone who is willing to accept it. Free postage included. I have a total of 35 12x12 papers to give away. It consists of papers from teresa colins, lily bee, pink paislee's daily junque, american craft's city park, sassafras papers etc and i will also throw in the latest tim holtz' kraft resist paper pack. I used around 12 pieces of the kraft papers so there is still a good whole 12 papers left. (:

I did manage to scrap a layout this week but i have been so backwards in terms of updates so lets start with a LO i did for the MWL National Day challenge.

Used the Echo Parks' Victoria Garden papers and they are simply irresitable. Love the summer colours. Decided to use my Prima's mask on a white cardstock as the background and used the papers and prima flowers as embellishments.

Its been long ..

since I had my last update. Hello! 3 months away from blogging and i have no idea how to begin. A lot has happened since May and i had my fair share of travel breaks to HK and KL and before I knew it, term 3 started.

It is almost the end of Week 4 and looking back, i thank God for his providence. Without him, i wonder how i ever did survive it? On the scrapping side, i have been slow but productive. I completed quite a number of things but have been too lazy to upload. So forgive me for the lack of update. I do hope to regain my blogging momenturm.

A couple of weeks ago, i received some bad news. A very good friend of mine's mother was dignosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Quite frankly, the signs and symptoms were only detacted within a week and before you know it, the tests was confirmed positive. It struck upon me that life is truly so short. You might have all the riches and blessings in life but you never know when God decides to take them all away.

I spent that night in the hospital, watching tears dropped down from her eyes. Hearing that her dad broke down too, after hearing the news broke my heart. But what touched me the most was her mum's undying faith and relentness not to give in to the disease. She had faith and eyes fixed upon the Lord. She had initial fears but her ultimate fear was in the Lord, for He is the one who is all knowing.

I was reminded of a verse that i love:
"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
- Psalms 46:10

This verse never fails to encourage me in my difficult times. I used to recite the verse during my A Level days and it always brings about this unexplainable peace within me. So, I did this particular canvas to encourage her during this period. It is nothing fantastic but i hope it encourages her to walk on with peace and faith, for our God provides.

Hello everyone! Its been long since i shared any scrap projects but i have a piece good news to share. A month ago, Sandy from KCK asked me to guest design for them. I was so elated when i was offered this opportunity. It was indeed a great honor to guest design a layout using the lovely Destination line from Simple stories. Indeed, it feels good when your work is recognised. (:

Quite frankly, i have never heard of the brand, Simple stories before but i was so amazed by how versatile the papers were. I have found a newfound love. I need to look out for where i spend my money.

Also, here to share another layout. It is a 8.5by11 layout on the October Afternoon's 5 Dime papers. This is by far one of my favourite OA lines and i simply love the sweet vintagy edge to it.

Notice a recurring pattern? I am in love with brads now. Haha. I am finding ways and means to use brads on every layout i have. That includes putting some charms, making hidden journals or using strings to tie in between two brads. I love how they complete a layout. (;

So whats on your scrap table now? Mine is a big mess as i have temporary stopped scrapping since i am still marking the scripts. I hope to find some inspiration soon!

a new beginning

I have been wanting to post some of my thoughts about GE here but i just havent found the time to do so. On the scrapping side, i have been scrapping less as my exam markings are all in and i have been terribly lazy to scrap anything but i will be back to share some good news soon! Please stay tune..

These past few days have been fruitful. With the 9 days running towards the elections, you could sense that Singaporeans were no longer apathetic as they used to be. Social media has been able to paint a clearer picture from the sides of both opposition and the PAP. Citizens were able to make a more informed choice on who they should vote for. It was my first time voting as a citizen and i treated that maiden opportunity seriously.

So to sum up the whole entire experience, i would like to quote a few lines from the article 'A New Hope' written by the online citizen which ideally highlights how i feel Singapore should move forward to.

"Change is always disconcerting, and often frightening, and sometimes may not pay off. However, we will never know the outcome or reap any rewards that may come if we don’t take the plunge. If Singaporeans have not taken the leap of faith and picked a young and relatively unproven Mr Lee Kuan Yew and his party to chart their future, the Singapore of today would not exist."

So from whatever perspective you are looking at from, change was inevitable. Citizens voted for change and they were willing to lose some good ministers at the expense of it but at the same time, change was needed as they voted in MPs whom they deemed could best serve their needs and to be heard in Parliament.

No matter who we voted for, i think what is more important is that we voted with our hearts and conscience and at the end of the day, you cant deny that we voted based on the one principle - we love Singapore and we want our future to be better.

My two cents worth...

Mid week

I am loving Wednesdays and it is time for another post since there is no school today. I had the luxury to wake up early, scrap and right now, i am in the midst of marking my papers.

Two things to share:

1) The current craze - HANDMADE FELT FLOWERS! I bought felt recently and i have been crazy making flowers. i finally took the opportunity to use my MS circle cutter. :D

2)I got the chance to sit down and work on using the latest OA papers. Have i told you that OA papers are my greatest weakness? it was probably the first ever brand i loved when i first started. I can never get over the versatitly of their papers and the fun elements they always incooperate in their bellies and papers. A few days ago, i saw this post on their blog and i fell in love with what was done in that layout. I have always been a fan of layers and this layout was plain genius! I tend to do my layouts, focusing on one side of the page but after seeing the post, i realised it can be so much fun to incooperate layers from equal corners of the page.

So this is a scrap lift:

I tried to incooperate the same elements to each corner of the page so that there would be a balance when looking at the page. I am loving the outcome! Notice those white felt flowers? Arent they adorable?

Off to sleep after this! This was the much awaited holiday needed, even though i did not mark as much as i wanted to. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and i am pretty much looking forward to this short week too. Wednesday is Nomination Day, so the school is closed for one day and we probably need to vacate early on Tuesday too. So happy! Haha.

This would be one of the notebook sold in a Singapore store at Cineleisure. Thanks to Jo for sharing with me the opportunity to create. We just received our money for our commission work for wedding guestbooks. We were elated! I know i was, it is fun seeing how people enjoy them and it was fun on myself, given the libity to do anything i want.

What you think? I am loving the notebook! I couldnt bear to let it go after i was done with it. I am starting to use the zutter more often. I still make mistakes from time to time, but i am getting better with more notebooks done. I didnt have time to take pictures of the other two notebooks since i handed them over already. But this will do..

There is so much to look forward to for the coming week since it is going to the long awaited Easter weekend. Even if that means a lot of assignments to mark before the exams in 2 weeks but i would rather do that in the comfort of home! Haha. I havent been blogging much since i have been procrastinating the thought of typing.

I have been scrapping though. A lot! I have been trying to get some notebooks done since they are going to be sold at a store soon. Will let you guys in once things are finalised.

On Saturday, Kate came over to the house and as usual, she loves stamping. She makes me sit on the chair first and she sits on my lap while i take out stamps for her to stamp. Besides that, she loves taking out my pearls and buttons and sticking them on papers. A future scrapper, dont you think?

That's her on the chair while i was sitting on the floor, rearranging my stash. As you can see, my scrap area is messy! it always is, until i finish a project or a LO. Haha. She was quite cute. She insisted on going back on the chair herself and commented 'dont distub, kate is working now.'

Anyway, a LO for this week. I am so glad i bought the AC peachy keen series. I was pretty certain i wouldnt but when i saw them in the stores, i couldnt resist. (:

It is amazing how thickers can be used as a form of embellishments. In this case, i used the letter 'O' to add interest on the border strip.

Last Saturday, we scouted the land for trinkets! And Lo and Behold, we were proud of what we found! It was indeed giving us a headache, looking through racks and racks of stuff to find trinkets like these. So yes, along with these trinkets came rolls of metal chains, all ready to be wired down into little dangling trinkets next to the future mini albums.

What say you, if we decide to sell them at really affordable prices?

And what really put the smile of my face was drinking KOI's HONEY GREEN TEA with Grassjelly at the end of that 2 hours shopping. I hope your monday has been great. The time is 5.30 pm and i just got home. What a day! Oh What a day! Time to rest up now.

Finally, i found some time to scrap today. Actually, this layout below was not scrapped over this weekend but it was done last week. Today, i managed to sit down and add some charms to one of the commissioned wedding book. I have been really lazy and busy to scrap anything much. Right now, the mind is just thinking on how to finish my syllabus in the next 4 weeks since exams are coming! Pressure is on for me now! I got to pray for the much needed energy to survive this coming month! I can do it!

Have you checked out Carton's blog? Their new arrivals are simply the best because their prices are so reasonable! I was so glad when they brought in Webster's Country Estate & Ladies and Gents' lines! Webster outdid themselves this time around! I ended buying more because of their afforable prices by Carton! Do order from them!

I have been wanting to scrap this picture for the longest time! I am so glad i did! You will be amazed by how fast kids grow. I cant believe Kate is so big now and very soon, Beth will learn to talk and walk! I simply cant wait...

In the previous post, i posted a layout using the Crate Paper' Emma shoppe with the exact same sepia picture. I did another layout, using the same photo but this time it's in 4R. I am loving the sepia constrast with the bright colours!

I have the most tiring day ever! Mondays pass so quickly only because its my worst day. I am down from 7.45 to 2.15 in classes teaching with only a 45 minutes break in between. The life as a teacher.. I wonder how people like my mother can survive for 43 years in this system. It amazes me ! In any case, Monday Blues are over!!

Meet Beth

At 1 and a half months, she is ...
1) really responsive. If I turn my head to the right or left, her eyes follow suit.
2) is smiling occassionally.
3)is fussy. Likes to be carried and changed clean.
4) cries loudly. I dont think kate was as loud as her.
5) can walk and talk!? This is what Kate says when we ask her about Beth.

The very first LO on my 2nd little niece. Adorable and so cute! I am sure there will be more lovely pictures to take of her in the months to come. Babies change so much overtime. We are going to adore her as much as we love Kate.

I tried something different - used a black marker to underline words from the patterened papers that symbolizes how we feel about her. (: Haha. It looks like a piece of English homework but i do like the idea of underlining adjectives or words, that seems to be like a type of journalling.

Mid week, people! Hang in there, the weekends are coming soon! :D I am coming down with a really bad headache. Work is driving me crazy so I really need to take it easy. So, i needed a 'destress' session and i am here to share what i have done much during the one week break.

First up: I decided to join the Crate paper's March sketch challenge. Here is the link. Since i bought tons of Emma Shope's and Portrait's papers, it was time to use them.

I used papers and bellies from the Emma Shoppe's collection and i am actually loving how sweet the papers are. Maybe a little too sweet for my liking but i love how the sepia photo against the papers match. :D

Next up: An accordian album inspired by his works. I was amazed by how he made the G45 curtain call accordian and decided to do one myself, using Echo Park's for the record. I never thought i would get this line but i came across it in the stores and was completely bought in..

march holidays

Yeah, its the march holidays but sadly, it will be ending in a few days time. I have been enjoying myself too much. I have been resting at home, waking up late, going out (a lot!) and scrapping too! i am glad that this much deserved break is here! I have been really busy in terms of scrapping and getting work done for term 2. Jo offered a commissioned work for her colleague's wedding and i have helped make 3 and a half books already. I will post some pictures once i get the books binded. (: It is really fun to do things like these because it keeps your creative juices alive.

Yes, i have also finally used my Jack and Jill papers as well as my Cp's Portrait collection. Guilt set in seeing all the papers lying around but yet i have not touched them. i am crazy about the new lines from crate paper! And i can proudly say that whatever i bought from the Prima's botanical line is gone! Thanks to my constant reminder to use them. But now that i have used the Portrait's collection, i realised how much i love each and every paper. I am going to buy more tomorrow! LOL.

Here to share what i did:

I love trying new alignments. It turned out better than expected. I am so glad i finally used the doilies i bought and they are so versatile. On the left, i folded the dollies into two to make it look like a pocket/envelope while on the right, i use the dollies as a background layer behind the photos. I also love how layering gives an extra 'pop up' effect! I am truly in love with this line..

Favourite mist colour- Even though i have tons of TA mists, i do have a favourite. It is evident in how much is left in the bottle. Candy Apple Red!

Monday blues

I seemed to be posting whenever i am feeling down. I do hate Mondays and school so badly. I have no idea why i have been feeling this way lately. So insecured and life feels meaningless because of what this job entails. I just wish that there was much more to look forward to. Weekends are short and weekdays are excruciating. I need to find back the old motivation i had last year.

In any case, 2 more weeks to March holidays right?

Here to chase away the Monday blues with a mini album i made using Prima Botanical collection. I am loving what i did. Strictly journal based, so that i can pen down thoughts on the new addition to our family, Beth. I made tag slots with motivational phrases or to stick polaroids to mark this new milestone. I am so proud of how i made the slots. Some slots are hidden behind the bow and all of which are filled with botanical flocked rub ons (current favourite) and prima lollipop flowers. I LOVE IT! :D

Oh Monday, you are gone and out! I am so glad that Monday is over! Each day seems to pass so quickly because of how busy i am at work. Mondays are simply horrid because of how long the day is for me. I need to BREATHE a little. In any case, it means 4 more days to the weekend.

I always find great joy in opening up my scraproom to friends who want to make something or do little gifts for their friends/family. This SB phenomenon is too expensive for any one timers to go to the store to buy their materials. B and J came over on Sunday and they managed to do a love journal to document their journey together. Oh what joy! It was fun seeing how they used distress inks, cut with the tonic scizzors and stamped for the first time. They were simply amazed! Haha. (:

And the craze right now for me is ...PRIMA's BOTANICAL LINE!!! Sorry if i seem to be talking randomly. The brain is offcially dead as it is almost time to sleep. Yes, i am very much in love with this line. Everything i do now has 'BOTANICAL' elements in them.

I altered a heart box that i bought from IKEA. It is one of their new releases and i am so into hearts right now. It is amazing how i go through little phases like these. But i am loving how it came out. A perfect gift for someone special. (:

Belated Valentine

I hope everyone had an awesome valentine day. I love the verses in 1 Cor 13 that talks about the essence of love. I know it has been overused and sometimes people take it out of context. But in the epitome of what love is, i think it is true and meaningful. I do love the last sentence especially.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. "

Love conquers all and love is shown every single day that God grants us and with that, we welcome the new addition to the family..

it was 2 years and many months ago, when kate was born. So here we are at this new chapter when the sister in law's baby no.2 is coming out anytime from now. We are praying that everything will go smoothly and a healthy baby beth will be delivered. We are going to rush down to the hospital later. (:

So here i am, trying to rush to complete my marking and to upload my lessons for the upcoming E learning day. I thought i would stop by to blog about what happened today. Its been a long time since i queued outside at our LSS, promptly waiting for the doors to open at 11am. What you may ask? Yes, I was waiting to get all the Jack and Jill CHA 2011 papers as well as their flowers and stamps. I did go totally crazy with the spending and ended up bursting my budget for the week. Quite frankly, i wish the lines werent that nice so that i didnt have to look like one crazy lunatic grabbing things one after another.

An uncontrollable moment.

What i am trying to say is that i do hope this incident doesnt happen again. i hate to think that i am a hoarder, buying lots of products but never using them. The truth is that i have learnt over these 2 years that there will always be new products coming out for each CHA so it is vital that i buy and use them. There is clearly no point in hoarding.We must start as scrapbookers, to let go of the thinking that "its pretty and i dont want to lose using it." (:

All things Prima

It was a good CNY break and i cant believe that the celebrations are over. There isnt much to look forward too but i guess its 4 more weeks till the march holidays. (: I was sick today, was down with food poisoning and i didnt make it to school. It is a horrible feeling waking up at 3am in the morning and finding yourself puking in the toilet bowl. Yucks but thank God i feel a whole lot better now.

I am running a slight fever so i am hoping that it will go away tomorrow. In any case, i did managed to finish up a layout during the long break. i was doing bits and pieces of the layout each night, considering how tired i was from the endless visitations. But yes! I have cleared half my prima flowers lot from this layout as well as one more that i have just started doing.

I have been struggling to use my Jack and Jill papers for the longest time considering how much i love that line, Omg! Okay, but it was time to use them as the next line of Jack and Jill will be in our stores soon. Motivation to buy more prima flowers, i guess. <3

And since i have been using these flowers up, i do have some spare ones that i would like to giveaway to one person!

Scrappy week -

In spite of busy days at work, i still managed to find an hour a day to scrap. I must admit, it was really tiring considering that i have to wake up at 6 everyday. But i tried and i scrapped quite a bit. Well, i have finally decided to take out my big stash of AC Enchanted, Love and City Park collections which i have been hoarding since the last CHA.. Yes! I decided to finally use them. And wow, it felt good destashing. I felt like i finally cleared some stash off my room.

Anyway, I did a simple layout on the HK trip again. Just documenting the three of us in HK Disneyland. With all my heart, i really do miss that place. Whenever i scrap about HK, i feel a whole lot better. (: Oh well, that sums up the HK Dec trip.

Smitten over heart shape tags -
I figured that since Vday was coming that i would made some heart shaped tags, capturing some quotes of love. what's that not to love when you get to work with AC's Love collection. I am loving what i did. (:

Ooooh! To get little folded edge around the heart, simply cut a 1 inch strip of paper and tape the sides as you fold the strips. Its pretty simple. Try it! I love how it gives the hearts more texture. (:

Shopping -

Yes, i am heading downtown today to shop with the sister. Last minute rush to find some new clothes for CNY! yes, i have been that busy to go shopping! I bet everyone is in town. Oh help me! Do need to get something no matter what. (:

life

when life gets hard or when you are hit with a rough monday, the first thing i think about is Kate. Nothing beats the thoughts of how much Kate is growing up or how i wish i could be a part of her life more. I am so glad she is my niece and that spending time with her makes me forget the realities of life.

And in just a month from now, i am going to be blessed with another niece. I am blessed with a good family and friends that i know i can count on even when work takes the better of me. Days like these are hard but i know for sure, He holds every tomorrow i have. It can only get better.

Not to forget, the second thing that comes to my mind is thoughts on how nice it will be to sit at home on my scrap table and just scrap to my heart's content. I can only dream but you never know when it might come true.

I hope you are having a better Monday than mine. But in all things, i am blessed and thankful for whatever life hits me with. (:

Yet another post on this lovely Monday night! The reason why i have the time to blog is because I have school camp from Wed to Frid so that means no teaching. So yes, i am on a holiday mood already. My brains can officially shut down from Wed to Fri. (:

Yes, a pictorial update. The lovely pictures taken on Saturday at Iris's class. Somehow, my eyes were really swollen that day. I think i found out i had an allergy with calamari. :( Oh Darn but boy are these pictures pretty! (: Got to take pictures with Iris and Pooi!

The best lesson learnt from that day is how much value there is in saving your scraps. She was telling us to save our scraps and not to throw them away. That got me thinking that i should STOP hoarding my stuff and just use them. Do you have this problem? i always buy embellishments and use them sparingly only because i feel that it is such a pity to use them all up. But i was so inspired by Sat's workshop that i decided to scrap a layout, using all 19 rub ons from the latest K&Co line.

And viola! I used these whole pack of rub ons to get this...

Oh! And did i tell you that my newfound love is Tim Holtz's tissue tapes? Can you spot them? Haha. I used to think they were awfully lame when i watched his demostration on youtube but after trying them on Sat, i realised that it creates wonderful textures that you can have on your page. It is so easy to use. I AM IN LOVE! :D

This guy is one genius! I am secretly in love with his products. I have a compartment where i keep my secret stash of tim holtz's goodies. How about you, guys? Is there a particular brand that you are secretly in love with? :D

Wow, what a weekend i had. I cant believe that tomorrow is Monday and it is back to work. But i had a blast at IrisBaobaouy's workshop on Saturday. It was non stop scrapping for 5 hours and i was aching after we finished. But it was such an honour to finally meet her in person. She was one of the first few scrappers that i admired when i started scrapping. She is on every Design Team that i deemed in my top list and it was awesome to see her teach us. What i got out of the workshop was how intricate she is when it comes to cutting and her layouts are not only beautiful but she has perfect colour combination as well as intricate texture details.

Oh and i got to meet Pooi also! (: Not that its the first time but it was good to finally take a picture with her. (: I will post the pictures up once i uploaded the photos.

Just wanted to share one of the canvas i did before but did not have a chance to put it on the blog. A quick technique tip: Mist your canvas and while it is still wet, grab some tissue paper and start dabbing on the canvas. What is left a beautiful texture on the canvas. I love how this was a great alternative than to use masks or embossing. (:

And this is probably one of the favourites. Love the button in the picture that i bought from HK and the teal ribbon from Arab Street. (: (:

Today marks a special day in my life. Yes, its the birthday and i have finally reached my mid twenties. Time flies and every year is a reminder of the aging age as well as a year to be ever thankful for. Though its a school day and i had the busiest timetable ever, i am grateful for all the people and things that God has blessed me with. Without them, i would have been a different person!

Highlights of Bday celebration over the weekend:
1) A big surprise from the Secondary school friends. I had to stand up in front of the whole restaurant while they sang the bday song and the whole restaurant cheered for me.
2) the ever generous hong baos from two group of friends and family
3) the suprise school celebration with the colleagues who waited until my lesson ended at 2.15pm to surprise me with an awesome mango cake!

Over the weekend, i managed to finish a layout to sum up the HK Dec trip. Did a multiple of photos and just used the pink paislee sweetness papers. I am in love with the papers! (:

CHA 2011 is coming up soon so lets just waste no time in finishing up our old products so that we can make room for new ones! I am going to control myself this time round. I am glad that there isnt anything that has really caught my eye yet.

A new layout for the recent HK trip. Reminiscing on the memories i had at Disneyland. Truly, in the spirit of Christmas and in the spirit of all things Disney, i simply adore Disneyland. Be it young or old, you will always find that inner child in you to enjoy the Disney Characters, the pretty tea cups, the gingerbreadman houses etc etc. I practically fell in love with the place as we watched Disney unfolded before our eyes. (: Indeed, the very idea of Disneyland brings joy and what a way to celebrate the Christmas season this year at Disneyland. (:

So even though i am fairly concerned about the idea of starting school, the new expectations, the difficult classes, i am trusting that He is able to do immeasurebly more than I can imagine and He will guide me through the new year.

Merry Christmas and storage ideas

Hello! I wanted to do an earlier post on Christmas day itself but couldnt find the time to do so. Merry Christmas and I hope you'all had a splendid christmas celebration. This year, Christmas was celebrated simple and quietly. Enjoyed the little catch ups with various groups of friends as well as having some good O company with the family. (:

Remember the previous entries with the canvases! Well, i managed to finish a total of 12 canvases and each of them has been painstakingly given to my closest friends. The only regret is not taking pictures of the last two canvases i did, since i was in a rush as usual, not being able to finish them in time. What a pity, since those two were done for guys and i took a lot of time to get the perfect grunge look. Haha

Oh well, for now enjoy these few close ups of the presents all sealed with love with tags.

Another thing that i have been doing has been to rearrange my little craft room. Haha. Recently, i have been inspired by this blog: http://craftystorage.blogspot.com which shows you people's craft rooms and storage ideas so i thought i made use of some storage that i had to rearrange my crafts.

These 4 black compartments come from IKEA and i used to use them to store my unwanted stash but now has been converted to storing my punches, my bigger stamps and my little secret stash of Tim Holtz goodies. I love how i can visibly see my punches just by storing them this way.

This was recommended by my colleague and i recently bought this to store my little embellishments that i used to contain in a box. It was such a genius idea as i can now put all my embellisments out for me to look through instead of rummaging through my box.

Last but not least, i am sure this storage idea isnt new to people. i just used my 1" circle punch to label each Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist. I like how i can visbily see them clearer and the colours are so pretty. Oh! And dont be shocked by how much mists i have. This is my GREATEST weakness! Haha.

back to basics

As i was surfing the net yesterday, i came across this scrapper that really inspired me. Looking at her work made me realised that you dont need much to make a beautiful layout. Often time, scrappers rush to buy new products or products that appeal to us, just because we want them or need them. I am not saying that buying these products arent good, i am guilty as such but seeing her work made me realised that simple is good and the basics of scrapbooking can be as easy as just using papers, mediums and scizzors.

I was so amazed by how she could repeatedly used back the same stamps in her layouts but yet the layouts were beautiful and original. Often time, my biggest worry is using products all over again, fearing that my layouts would be boring. I feel the constant need to use the new products bought. But shouldnt the purpose of buying something you like be the reason why you use them over and over again? (:

So i took some time off my christmas gifts and I tried going back to what i used to love:

Using the basics of just misting, stamping and lots of alphas. No flowers, no trims, no crystals. Just using the products i used to love: my MS butterfly punches, my alphas and my stamps and simply depicting the story of Enjoying the sunrise and experiencing the amazing sunset in the USA'10.

Good morning, everyone! I have finally recovered from the Hong Kong trip and right now, i have energy to take some time to blog. 16 days in HK was awesome and i seriously miss the place already. People say that you only need 5 days in HK but quite frankly, i feel that time is never enough in HK. There is always so much to do and explore. I love this city that never sleeps. (: I will be posting some of the HK trip pictures once i have time to upload.

For now, another canvas to share. I have been busy trying to finish up all the canvases for Christmas presents. I have 7 more to go. Haha. (:

This time, in Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist. You can see that i am trying to use all my mists that is stored in my stash. Haha.

Oh and Did you see this cute sliver ribbon? As i was in Hk, i managed to find a whole row of stalls selling ribbons like these. I was so happy that i was crazily buying different colours. These ribbons really come in handy and it does provide the added touch to your embellisments. (:

This is for L. I am in love with this canvas. It was sprayed with perfect peach mist and i used white embossing powder to emboss the background. I love that prima stamp so much. (: Love love the little details and i realised i miss having flowers on my canvas or background.

I realised that i do love TA mists a hell lot more than MR mists. It is sad because i hardly use them even though i have a few bottles of them. So i have decided to put some for sale, if you are interested. Not new but still in good working condition. I wished i could keep them but at the rate i am buying TA mists, there is just no room for maya road mists. Do take a look. (:

live, breathe scrap

I have been doing absolutely nothing but scrapping! Yes, i love you holidays! Though work is at the back of my mind, i am leaving it to saturday where i am going to use that 6 hours in school to complete some work. (:

For now, i have been scrapping a lot. A LOT! I am trying to finish as much as i set out to do before i leave for 16 days to HK. Yes, i am leaving this Sunday. I cant believe i waited so long for it to happen. (: For now, i am happily creating while sending out mails to the post office to people who ordered my stash. Once again, thank you! I am living the life that i wanted to have since i started work. I should enjoy and savour every moment before school arrives.

I simply love waking up to days where i can do anything i want and enjoy life!

So here is what i have been doing. I have been working with lots and lots of canvas because i am going to give them to each of my friend on Christmas. So here is the review of the first canvas:

This is for P. After working on this first, i realised that it was a little too cluttered. But still loving the flowers and embossing on the canvas itself. Oh! And using glimmer mists to 'cover' the canvas is 10 times more efficient than painting. You get a nicer effect and it saves a hell lot of time. (: I love you, mists!

My fear(s)

What is your greatest fear? For the longest time, i have been very scared of heights. I can still vividly remember walking on an overhead bridge when i was young. I used to be so scared of doing so, fearing that the bridge will collapse. Ever since then, no matter where I go, even if it is in a lift that is clear and transparent, i fear for my life. Haha. Weird right? But i just cant seem to overcome it and the heart beat just gets faster and faster.

But the funny thing is that I am not that afraid of taking rollercoaster rides because I know that I will eventually come down and it will end within a few minutes but what really scares me is being perpectually up there. Such is an incident that took place in the recent trip to USA. I think i shared here before that I was forced to take the cable car up to Mount Teton which was 12000 ft above ground. Dad had to literally bribe me with hot chocolate but even then, i was not convinced myself. I think I did it for the sake of not disappointing the rest.

So i scrapped about it:

That's me, holding Dad's hand. Mum even said she was not scared but look at her!Haha. Not once did I let go of Dad's hands and not once did i look up to see the view. Haha. P.S: If you see the close up, you will realise i drew cable car line on the city landscape stamp. (: And the new craze is bakerz twines. :D

24 years and it is still like that. Haha. I wished there was some ways to overcome it but it just daunts upon me that it might never happen. But i guess I am happy this way. Right now, I am just thinking of how to escape not taking the cable car to Lantau Island when I leave for HK this week.

Kate is growing up so fast, it amazes me by how her personality has evolved. She is still that gentle well mannered girl but she has her days when she throws her fits. I guess it is hard for her to express herself since she cant really say what she wants. We are learning to deal with them and teach her patiently as we go along. By the way, she is my niece, not my daughter. Isnt she cute with her little doggie?

I managed to do a layout over the weekend but have slackened since then. Hopefully, i will have the energy to do finish up my christmas projects tonight and tomorrow. I do like this layout a lot. Who says that OA Seaside has to be done with pictures at the beach? I like how my title shows the fun side of what the CG means to us. (:

Rainy Monday

It was a beautiful night yesterday, sleeping while it rained and i nearly couldnt wake up this morning. I am back on my scrapping mojo. Remember i had plans to scrap on my USA trip pictures but somehow, i only managed to complete 2 LOs and i just lost the motivation to continue. So i figured that making an album would be more feasible. I took some of the pictures i developed and made the album.

I am so happy to how it turned out. I was contemplating on whether i should use my precious PP anthology papers as i simply adore the resist patterns on them. But anyhow, I am glad i used it. Explored how to bring out the resist patterns most. (:

Presenting my blue and white album!

I used all my favourite blue mists in this album: Jack Frost, Jazz Blue, Patina, Turquoise, Autumn Night. The page with the words "Snow" was using thickers mask to eccentuate the words.On the last page, the one with the cable car lines.. THe background was using my $2.50 blue ink to distress the resist. I love how it turns out.

A current favourite element that i love to add in albums are hamblys overlays. I just love the mix of transparency with papers. (:

The scrap table was in such a terrible mess that i got so irritated by how i was going to clean it up. With perseverance, I managed to clear all the unwanted mess. Managed to sort out what i did not want and put it into this white Ikea box. What I am going to do is to sell some of my items as well as do another giveaway. Hello all! It has been a long time since i last posted. Wow, school is ending this week. Do i hear all the teachers going HIP HIP HOORAY? I have been so tired recently but i am glad i survived the horrors of exams marking. On the SB side, I have not touched my scrapbooking desk for a long time. 4 weeks of shopping goodies are still waiting for me to unpack. I did however, made an exception and quickly did a scrapbooking frame for Marianne's bday. I am also going to make quick tags for my classes which i taught this year. I will see how it goes. I might just give up since i am only left with 1 more day!

So yes, i am back! Hopefully, i will be itching to start scrapping again. I got far too many new goodies that i want to start on but somehow, the bed always seems more appealing. Haha.

Mondays are never good days because it just means the week has begun. However, this week is different. We get Tuesday and Wednesday off from work due to Teacher's day. I am in a holiday mood now. (: Just finished marking one class of test papers and still have 3 more stacks to go.

have been tiring and unproductive. Lets just say this week has been fun but draining. There is this particular class that drives me nuts sometimes. I took them at the beginning of the year but because of practicum, another teacher took over. I only took them back in semester 3. It is hard to build back rapport again and i find myself getting angry so easily because they are so distracted and unwilling to learn. It makes me drag going into class even though i know there are some who wants to learn and improve. 4 more weeks, i say. I want to hate myself less because i am changing into someone that i dont like.

I am at my wits end.

I have been very slow in scrapping even though i have two piles of new CHA stuff. I did manage to get a bday card done within 10 mins last night and I am showing you a bday present I gave to one of my friends.

I did another french board for lynn's bday. It was amazing how i already wanted to do one for her when she requested a collage board for her bday 2 weeks after i started making hers. I guess she got more than a collage board. It was really nice to see her stunned reaction. I am loving the board, better than mine! Haha. (:

loving the weekends

I just wish sometimes that the weekends could be that much longer! I had so much desire to scrap over the weekend that time really passed by so fast. Oh well, i finished whatever i set out to do. Kate fell terribly sick this weekend and she is still in the hospital, down with high fever. They have still yet to detect what is causing it but may need to take blood test soon. Do pray for her. We have been down at the hospital on sat night and the whole of today.. Lets hope she gets better. (: I will need to go down and see her tomorrow after work.

Anyway, this was what happened last week.

An impromtu class for my two good friends who stayed over my house. They had so much fun making their albums and learning how to embellish. (: I think they were equally as excited as I was. It was so fun watching that going crazy over papers and embellishments. (:

Where did the National Day Holiday gone to? I have absolutely no idea. I was having way too much fun and time passed by so quickly. I had time for a scrap crop on Sat, followed by a wedding to attend and a bday party. I was so exhausted but had time to enjoy myself.

I will just keep this post short by posting a layout I did recenly on my USA trip. I am really quite slow so bear with me as I try to complete all the LOs i want to do for the USA trip.

I miss waking up to this every morning at Auntie Lisa' house. The smell of fresh flowers, the vibrant and cheery garden that overlooks from the patio. It was the smell of summer and it marked the beginning of summer. (:

to the long weekend! I cant wait! I realised that sleeping too much is not good! I feel so sleepy still and i cant barely find the energy to last the day. Here is one to share for this week. I took 3 days to complete this french memo board since you know i am such a slow scrapper. But i am glad to see it turn out the way i wanted to. Firstly, i got to use up my flowers! and it was fun trying something different from the usual layouts. I would want to do another for a friend's upcoming bday but this time, i want to choose a lighter background for the board. I wanted cream actually but they ran out of the colour and the rest were so expensive. Zzzzz.

I will be back soon to share on layouts done for the recent USA trip. I got my photos developed already and just started on one layout. Almost done, I hope. For now, it is time to go back to marking papers. :/

There is a certain class that I used to teach at the beginning of this year. This was probably the most challenging class i taught, so much so that I spent more time than ever bonding and differentiating my lessons. It was the class that made me cry and made me drag going to class. But yet, i knew that I have won over most of them since they were more willing to learn and willing to listen.

I dont teach this class this semester. Someone took over so that I could teach another Geog class. This class decided to take matters into their own hands, wrote a petition to the P to get me back to teach them. Even after advising them not to do, they still did it. A small part of it makes me happy knowing that they miss my teaching but a larger part of me feels extremely bad for the teacher who is teaching them now. It is not the correct limelight to be under, knowing that the P now knows about it.

And the truth is .. I dont think their petition will work. They cant possibly change the teacher, given the big mess it will create for timetabling. So their only hope is term 4.

However, i am highly encouraged by their eagerness to learn and that is probably why they took the matter into their own hands, given that no one is hearing their cries.

Tell me what should i do?

Sheesh. I am secretly loving CHA summer 2010. It was so hard, to not resist checking out the sneak peeks for each brand. All i can say is I am going to get broke badly. At first, it was just a checklist with 2 of the Dear Lizzy line, then came crate paper Restoration, Prima's Jack and Jill collection and LILY BEE had to come out with the best creation from them yet, Collection Fall! Zzzzz.

Resist, Jeanette! Resist!

Anyway, i must also give myself a pat on the back because i have been using my old products a lot recently! My paper stack has decreased significantly and i finally got to use some of those older products which I have not open up at all. (:

Okay, so first up! A cosmo layout, using all the old papers and bellies. (: i cant belive i have not used the earth love chipboards that i bought when it first came out. I am such a bad hoarder!

I love how the layout turned out! Am loving the bright cheery colours and the clean white space. (:

Up next, a sneak on a self made album.

This is for a friend and it was inspired by Dear Lizzy who made her version using fabric. I did the otherwise and used papers to make the same effect. Love the bindings. (:

School is having E learning day tomorrow so it is a much needed break before Friday comes. I cant wait for the weekends. Till the next update, take care.

WARNING! Long post ahead....

Onto a topic that is much needed to be shared. (: The first SB store I went to was in Colorado Springs. After much persuasion and approval from the Dad (who was not very happy about me going to MANY SB stores..), we arrived. It was called Simple Pleasures. The size of the store was about the size of our MWL store but it was huge in terms of what they had. I was happily buying my stuff and were so tempted by all the hero arts stamps they had. (: They had a lot of clearance stuff under 5.00 so i bought a few of those 7G stuff from there. The things were rather cheap (def cheaper than Singapore, thats for sure) but found out later that it was more expensive than the other store i visted. Oh ya! I FINALLY GOT MY CROPADILE too! (:

Up next, cheaper SB stuff could be found at WALMART and TARGET! In total, I went to these stores quite often since we needed to get grocery. So whenever they went to buy food, i would drop by the craft session. The pictures above were taken at the first Walmart store we went at Denver. I was so delighted to see the martha steward products and was squealing away. I love WALMART because all their martha steward products were on offer. I got 3 punches in total (US 11 dollars only), a heart punch and a circle cutter. Also, Walmart had a section on ribbons which Was FANTASTIC! I think they are so much nicer than what we have in our local stores. I was happily buying them in rolls at US2 dollars each. (:

Lastly, we went to ARCHIVER, a local LSS in Denver. I love this place the most since it was the biggest store I went. The staff were really friendly also and they were so welcoming to help me get my products. (: I was so happy to find a lot of products that werent in Singapore yet and also products that i resisted buying in Singapore because of the expensive prices. They were so much cheaper than the Simple Pleasures.

Also, I finally got this (below) from the store. As i was paying, I noticed the number of magazines they had behind the stores and asked if they had this. They were so kind to help me find and when they did, my face simply lifted up. (: Yes, she is the current favourite designer of me. I think a lot of it came from liking her Dear Lizzy line. (:

Finally, the loot that went straight into the bags so that I could bring home and start scrapping - things we bought online and things I bought at the stores. (: I have been using them faithfully and I am proud that i have resisted the LSS stores. (:

If there is one thing I learnt, I realised that SB stores in Singapore are over priced. I know its a business and they are just doing what is right, so I dont blame them. i used to think that everything at the LSS was priced reasonably until i went overseas. It made me learnt a valuable lesson of watching even more closely on what I buy. (: So yes, that is what i am learning to use whatever I have right now and resisting every inch to buy the new products. I got to choose what I want and not what is NEW and TRENDY! (: So YES to the next DEAR LIZZY LINE and MAYBE to the rest.

Part 2 - LA

I am reminded of how fortunate we are in Singapore, for all the small things we take for granted especially when it comes to safety. Having being to LA for 4 days, it was indeed an eyeopener. Streets became unsafe, trains were filthy and dangerous and the people were not at all friendly. My image of LA had always been good - Sun, Glamour and HOLLYWOOD. But the truth is that this only makes up a small part of LA. A lot of the people there are living in poverty and are jobless.

Taking a train ride from our hotel to Long Beach was truly a frightening experience. A couple of times, people were begging for money. One guy even stood in front of us and started blabbering nonsence. For a moment, i thought he was going to take out a gun and shoot us. The streets werent safe at night and sometimes during the day. During our walks down the streets, we had a black guy trailing us for some distance.

It is hard to imagine that the poor people take the trains and buses while the rich people drive around. I can see why now, finally. it is pretty unsafe if you do but it is unfortunate. I take for granted that in singapore, we have the luxury of clean and good transportation modes and that we are secured and protected. For that, i would rather stay here than LA.

But i wont say LA was entirely bad. We got to see some good parts, it was better than nothing. (:

USA update

The jetlag is gone. It is really funny but i think coming back to Singapore was so much harder to cope and it took my body some time to get back to normal. For days, i was waking up at 4 am in the morning and could not get back to sleep. Yet, i felt tired the whole day but was not able to do anything.

In any case, the weekends are coming (and its a long one!) and i am here for a short update. Short and simple - the USA trip was awesome!

Denver- I got to go somewhere which i dreamt of going since i was young. The amount of beautiful lanscape and scenary were plentiful and they are still etched in my mind. Perhaps, I have changed. I realised I DO like holiday trips with shopping. Lots of shopping. I guess i am too used to my HK trips. The USA trips had limited shopping time but we could spent hours and hours driving up and down just to see all the famous mountains and geysers. Which i am glad i did, because it is something that is ONCE in a lifetime.

So yes, i made use of all the shopping time i had to spend and spend. Okay that aside, i fairly enjoyed connecting back to God's beautiful creation. We had so much to be thankful for. God provided good weather where it was cold and cool and i love that. We got to see HAIL and SNOW which was awesome and I had obliging hosts who brought me to as many scrapbooking stores they could. What more could i ask for?

Okay maybe one thing to note: I was forced to ride on a suspended tram which brought us up 10000 ft to the mountains. I nearly died.. I was trembling and crying because people who know me know that i have an issue with heights. Oh well, they did reward me with nice cocoa at the top of the mountain and the temperature was like -7 degrees. (:

School starts tomorrow, yet again. Wow. Where have all the time gone to? Seriously, when you are having fun..time passes equally fast. To a new term, i am praying that everything will be fine and stay fine. 2nd semester is always the fastest so i am excited about that. (:

My jetlag is better also, slowly recovering. Just wanted to share what i have been doing. Before i left for USA, i made a couple of canvases for my friends. (:

This was also a big hit yesterday. (:

I was half worried that no one would patronise the stall, but boy was i wrong. It was the most popular among all the stalls at the church carnival. it was non stop work for Jo and me, from 4 to 9. But they had fun. I love how they commented how papers, flowers and buttons were pretty. Or comments on how 'they always wanted to try scrapbooking but never knew how to start..'

To next year, lets keep things a bit more simple and make it less tiring for ourselves. Got to thank Jo for the aimless preparation work done before the carnival.

Hello, from the Land of the Free (or should i say Scrap Heaven!)

USA is really an awesome country. It has been 12 days since i blogged and look at how time has flown by. I am so sad that i will be heading home in two days time. I am waiting at Denver Aiport right now, since the flight got delayed and i have like so much time to spare. (: Scrapbooking here is FREAKING MASSIVE! i think i spent around 400 bucks already. Its time to stop buying. I was just so happy that i started buying and buying. So far, i have managed to shop in 2 massive SB stores and everytime i stopped at Walmart, i will run to the craft section and get stuff. (: Walmart is like our Singapore's Spotlight. It has all the great deals (MARTHA STEWARD PUNCHES) and cheap ribbons. (:

I cant wait to get back and start scrapping with all my goodies! Jo and Lyn will be heading over on Wed, hopefully and i can LELONG my stuff to them since i bought them quite a lot of stuff. I am generous so i hope they will pay me back so money! Haha. (:

I managed to get my auntie and my mum to get a SB kit to scrap about the USA trip. They were having fun buying stuff and it reminded me of how i first started. it is a good hobby to cultivate, we just need to watch the pockets.

At the SIA business class lounge now. I only had 4 hours of sleep last night but I am hopeful that I will get some rest on board the plane. It is time to dominate the movies and watch to my heart's content. After all, it is going to be a long 18 hours on board the plane.

Pretty worried about handling the jet lag but i am sure I will get used to it. At most, I will just be a walking zombie for just awhile. (:

2 more days before I fly off to USA for 15 days. I have yet to pack my luggage yet since i have so much going on right now. It has been a full 5 days at school and with the cadets. I am tired but i managed to catch up on the scrapping and the gaming element. (: I am enjoying myself at this very moment.

Okay updates: I made a mini book for the USA trip where i intend to bring along so that i can journal and slot in poloroid pictures as I snap away in USA. This was inspired by Hero Arts video that i watched a couple of weeks ago. I love the Tim Holtz stamps as well as the tags that I put into the book to remind me of the goodness of the trip.

Love the techniques of spritzing mists on the kraft stock. Love love the effect. I did the same for the LO i made too.

I didnt even know i had cosmo's material girl papers until I was destashing last Sat. It was a mad day. I spent 3 hours of the day, repacking the papers and putting aside things I didnt want anymore. Ended up giving Lyn a lot of papers and embelliments. It seems easier to find my stuff now.

Oh! This is what I bought recently! Anyone guess where I got this? This is so amazing! Storage compartments vary a lot in the shop but they are really expensive. Hake anyway! I like how it matches the table. (:

I love how it stores the mist bottles! The best thing is that the storage stacks up if you buy more. Oops! Okay will do one more update before Tuesday, with pictures on other stuff I did for some of the friends' bdays. (:

A short post to a long and tiring day today. It is the last week of school and i cant believe school is finally ending for the 1 month break. But somehow, time seems to pass so slow and i am just hoping that Thursday will come soon! (:

Well, I did a simple layout over the weekend. Nothing too taxing on my poor body which is suffering from the lack of sleep. Yet another Dear Lizzy, i know... But, the papers always make me feel happy and i just cant stop using them. (:

I went out early this morning with Jo and Lyn to settle some scrapbooking stuff for the church carnival in June. I am so happy that we are going to be doing make and takes for about 100 people. Samples are done by yours truly where they will make a photo stand and put a 2R picture inside.

Here are the samples: I think it will be fairly simple for them. They will just need to stamp a verse, punch a border, put a flower and fold the scouring lines and they are done. What do you think?

They will have a variety of papers, stamps and punches to choose from. We bought them today and it was so fun! I hope they will enjoy making it. We are appealing for a poloroid section where they can instantly put their photos into the stand. We went to Bras Basah today to get the stamps done. I am so amazed by the shop and what the designers are able to do. And on top of that, the prices are so cheap! Our most ex stamp was only priced at 13 dollars!

I am planning to make some of myself too. One would defintetly be on the latest movie, Kick Ass where he claims " With no power comes no responsibility!" Oops, i know it is pointless but i love this quote so much! I was laughing hard when he said it.

Finally, exams scripts are marked and returned. I am just going to enjoy the remaining two weeks before holiday starts. I am just so happy that i can finally scrap today! I am planning to finish an album. Woohoo.

In any way, i took really long to get this Layout done since there was marking involved too. But it is finally done. Got to thank Jo for helping me stich since i am absolutely useless in that aspect.

I was really happy by how it turned out since this LO means so much to me. The aspect of Hong Kong and wanting to migrate and work there is still living in my heart but is yet to be fulfiled. One day, that will happen. I was also glad to try out making flowers using satin instead of fabric. It was a whole lot harder to use satin since it is a softer texture and it was hard to twist and turn. :D

This is what I have been doing. For the past 2 nights - before I sleep, i will go to my scrap table and start making fabric flowers. you can say that i am officially a flower addict but i have ventured out in making cool flowers from materials that I never thought would work. SATIN! And i love it!!! (:

Hopefully, I can take a break this week to finish the LO i am working on. I still have tons of papers to work on before the new CHA comes. Lets see - Lily Bee, Webster Papers (lullaby series), Teresa Colins, Canvas projects... Oh my goodness! I will slowly make my way up! I got to stop buying but this means the LSS needs to stop bringing in nice stuff.

i must be at one with my markings! Need to finish all the markings before the exams pile comes in. I got to finish it even though i am so easily distrated. Did i tell you how much i hate to mark essays? You got to hand it to the kids - bad grammer is a NONO for any teacher. The endless 'correcting' of essays just need to stop.

Did i tell you the worst? I got assigned to mark 160 essay scripts. All the best to me. Haha.

I am looking forward to some scrap time this week, hopefully. Want to finish my album filled with all the dear lizzy products. (: I know i am still hooked. I put aside all the rest of my new OA papers for later. (:

Yeah, I have been sick for the past 2 days! Stupid fever wont go down, took the medicine of a lighter dosage but still got allergic to it. My eyes were so puffy and i could not see much, as usual. Had to go down and get a jab to bring down the inflammation of the eyes and lungs.

But i got bored. Real bored. I couldnt possibly lie in bed the whole day. My body was aching from all that lying. Did manage to finish a LO and decided to try lots of misting. Mist mist mist! I love my mist! I love my TA bottles. I want to buy more. (:

Haha. MWL came out with the TA's matting mat today and it was just so exciting! but i couldnt go down and get it! Hopefully, it will still be around this weekend.

Anyway, heres' the layout! I am trying to use up all the pictures that has been developed. Using up all my papers and embellishments. No more hoarding!

Hello all! I am so glad monday is over! The weekend was so short as I had NPCC the whole day on Saturday! I was so tired after that. I am glad that their exams are coming but it is also means that i need to catch up on my marking even though i am procrastinating now.

I have been making lots of paper flowers yesterday and i am so hooked onto it. I can finally see the purpose in buying an MM tweezers. They are so good for making paper flowers. Okay, so i decided to join Leena's challenge but i am not sure whether my background actually counts for BIG and BOLD!

In any case, I am really happy at how it came out! Love love the thift shop papers. I realised that OA is my greatest weakness since i have four stacks of OA papers left. zzzz, i am seriously going to try to use them all and stop hoarding.

Where did the weekends go?

Its Sunday again! Cant believe how fast the weekend ends and I am so not looking forward to Mondays! Mondays end fast only because it is my heaviest day of the week. I hate rushing in between from one class to another. There isnt really anytime to take a breather!

In any case, I managed to go to the lss on thursday and saturday and I spent a whole lot! I am pretty much into mists and inks right now. It is this stupid craze that i am going through. I bought 3 more TA mists thinking that i would have some space to put them when i went back and guess what? NO MORE SPACE! Darn it. Okay, after some rearrangements, i managed to put them in a nice place. Guess how many mist bottles i have? 16!!!! Holy moly! i bet some of ur have more than that. *guilty guilty.

Anyway, enough talking! i pretty much did some projects related to TA mists. I will slowly post them on the blog. For now, i managed to complete a LO this weekend, using the new pink paislee papers and some new mists i bought (tiger lily and tattered leather)

I distressed a whole lot in this LO - wanted to bring out the edges more clearly and misted the mists on both sides. Love how the orange mists stand out. (: If you look carefully, you know who are in the picture! This is probably a secret that only a few know! I have been like their greatest fan when i was still schooling! Even though i am not as crazy as before, they are still by far my favourites! I make it a point to go for their concerts whenever they come back. (:

Wanted to document this wonderful memory when they were here in Feb'10.

relate to what G wrote in her entry. I guess sometimes you start doing a LO and you are liking how it turns out but eventually, after you are done -you feel that something is still missing but you do not know to make it better. sometimes that feels like a waste of the time and efforts put in.But i guess thats life and it shouldnt be the expectations put into a LO but it should be more about what is the story of today or what do i want to remember out of it.

First 2 Los were done over the past 2 weeks. I have been so slow to scrap as i keep getting stucked. Not very pleased with them but loving how i spent time journalling and remember the memories.(:

Then came Pooi's challenge.Been wanting to do it after seeing her inspiring LO and i am so glad i took it up. It feels like i am back to my comfort zone and everything just fell into place. Thanks Pooi for the awesome challenge.(:

Got to thank Leena for the awesome flowers from Thailand. You got to admit, it is as good as prima even though it is not acid free. Then, there is a need to thank Piradee for the brown strings she gave yesterday. Free! I nearly bought them from JillyBean at 7.50. Got to get Jo to get more for me from Thailand.

Went for Piradee's class with Jo yesterday. It was so awesome! I think i am so used to the pace at Lia's class that i was so ahead of everyone in terms of cutting and aligning. Haha. Oops, sorry for the pressure! I just hate falling behind. I am so glad i went because i really learnt how to distress properly and learnt a really cool technique of making my papers vintage looking. Will do up the journalling and post it up soon.

Fancy Pants

So a week ago, i mentioned about the challenge my sis and i were doing. Well, she was done with hers and she obviously gave me the heads up because she said 'i won' after looking at mine. But there are no winners when it comes to this. I am just glad i tried using papers that i never though i will use or buy.

So yes, Fancy Pants! In my own terms, i conquered you! (:

Cut the little cards out and decided to do a mini album! Decided to take out my hambly stash and used them as covers and insert pages. I am in love with what i did. I have so much hambly stuff but never got around to use them. I am glad i managed to do so.

All done! Guess what arrived in the mail today?

Thank you Scrapbook Carton! It made my day, just by receiving all these goodies. It is next on my scraplist. (actually, it is almost done! (: )

Was supposed to blog yesterday but i didnt have time and was way too tired. Haha. Well, lyn's bday (sis in law) was coming up and i decided to do a 9x9 frame for her as a gift. Mum has also been 'complaining' on why there isnt any photoframes of kate and her so i did another 9x9 frame of the grandparents and kate.

Presenting Dear Lizzy No 3. I am seriously in love with this line. i have never used a line of any kind so many times. lol.

Then, Lyn's one. I really love what i did for her.I wish i could keep it and i hope she does like it when i give it to her tonight. Doing a gift for anyone is probably the best feeling that one can get. Seeing the glow on their faces as they open up their handmade presents ... priceless! :D

Okay done! I will be back soon with my fancy pants creation! I am almost done and i must say, Fancy pants! I am sure not scared of you! Haha! Even though i wont buy papers from you though. :D

Hooray! Today was a super scrap productive day. I managed to finish 3 'projects' that i set out to do. Haha. I went over to Jo's house to scrap and i had to scrap alone for 1 hour, thanks to her work. It was so weird scrapping alone for a crop. In any case, she was complaining i was such a slow scrapper. I think i spent 2 hours just doing the pleated flowers. haha.

Okay first up : Dear Lizzy' NO 2.

I really wanted to draw back on the emphasis of journalling. I think sometimes i tend to be more concerned about how the LOs look like, instead of realising the importance of why you are scrapping a particular picture. I was really happy with how the LO turned out. TA's Jazz Blue is really excellant (sprayed it for the clouds) and i needed a Sun so i had to 'youtube' videos on how to make a Sun. Viola! Love my cute cute Sun.

Isnt this something I wont normally do? i realised i am such a structured kind of scrapper but this LO was really doing something different and being adventurous.

Will be posting the 2 'project's up tomorrow. Will need to get some before and after shots first. (:

Anyway, did anyone read Merdrey's and Sharon's blogs? They posted a challenge for each other based on the raks they give. Jo and i thought it will be quite fun to try something like that, to push our creativity beyond our comfort zone. But i guess it turned out to be more of a 'sabo' game. (at least for her!)

I probably wont post the layout on the blog. She is planning to give me Fancy Pants and i cringed when i heard it. Oh well, i must push myself to try something different.

I am finally back from camp! i never knew i could still get bitten by mosquitoes even though the air con was under me. it was hard sleeping with them buzzing in my ears. Well, it got a whole lot better after i sprayed myself with repellant! haha. it was really weird sleeping next to my desk and being alone in the whole staff room! Oh well, it was an experience. :D

Came back and concussed for a 4 hour nap. I am feeling a whole lot better even though i have to go down to school tmr. I am going to enjoy this one week break.

Well, i am done with my latest LO. i am really in love with the latest AC papers. I am officially an AC fan. :D Managed to use the MM 'baby girl' stickers that i bought ages ago and it went so well with the theme. :D I am loving how the word 'baby' is strung across. (:

She is my greatest joy. These pictures were taken during one of the afternoons with her. I am so thankful that i get to see her more often since she stays at my house from Wednesday onwards. I always look forward to come back from school to spend some quality time with her. :D

I did another Letterbox layout because i simply love AC right now. Haha. OMG! Today was a pretty cool day cuz i got my collegues to go down to MWL to buy scrap stuff. I went crazy over PRIMA flowers and it was the first time our bills combined got to 325 dollars. OMG!

In any case, i love my prima flowers!!!! I can finally scrap tonight since Term 1 is officially over. Hahahaha! I can sense freedom for now, even if it just one week.

What kind of scrapper are you?

I know, for sure that i am a slow scrapper. I always admire people who can finish a LO within a short time span. I am not like that. I always find it hard to finish a LO quickly. I take my time to find my embellishments and if i am stuck, i leave it on the desk and i will come back to work on it later.

I love to take my time on what i am doing. Perhaps i am slower when it comes to creative ideas and i am always finding through my stash to see what i have. I seemed to be able to remember what i bought recently but as for those 'long long time ago purchases', i dont remember buying them until i see them again.

In any case, i got my 2010 organiser done today. I have been working on it for the past 2 days. I remembered watching my sis and mum wrap my books using plastic sheets. I bought this plain black MUJI organier this year and i wanted to revamp it. What better way then to use the Prima 'Shabby Chic' papers and using the papers, i wrapped and cut it around the book, just like how they wrapped my books with plastic sheets. I was so amazed that it work. It is just harder, thats all.

Loving the new prima products and i love how TA's dazzling diamonds give the book the extra shine, especially when you shine it under the light. :D

Will be off for level camps this week and next week is the last week before Term 1 ends. I am going to be super busy! I will scrap more during March Holidays. :D

I AM FINALLY BACK after like a 2 months break! I think i lost my way along this teaching path. I seemed to be marking every single day, even on weekends. i was too tired to scrap and i was lacking in inspiration just by thinking about school. It was funny how i wasnt even motivated to go down to LSS. It felt like i was buying for the sake of buying.

Not to fear, i was still reading the blogs even when i wasnt commenting. It seemed like i forgot how happy i was when i was scrapping. in any case, something sparked last night and Jo was happy enough to go down with me to buy scrap stuff. I think it was the Cosmo's Joyride papers that really made me go GAGA over scrapbooking again! Lame as it is, i am in love with the papers. (:

Came back at 10 pm and immediately scrapped a LO. I am one happy girl now. I am also in the midst of doing up my 2010 organiser that i told myself i would do before the start of this year. Lol! i will share more about it when it is done.

For now : First layout for 2010. Hooray!

Joyride papers fit my Hong Kong pictures taken from last year. This is by far my most favourite country in the world. I am making it a point to go there twice a year. I am so in love with that place. I hope someday, i will be able to stay there for good. :DDDD

All it takes is one class to make or break you. I had a terrible day at work today. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. I think i lost control over one class and it went really bad. I was thinking in my mind 'God, pleasse help!' Perhaps it was the last lesson of the day and the students were just completely restless.

Well, it just took one bad class to make me feel like a complete failure. I must admit i broke down and i was still crying on the way home. The pressure of being a teacher is really tough especially when i have to deal with NA kids who are not interested in going to school in the first case.

In any case, i lost my voice and my voice hurts really badly now. I am probably going to stay at home tomorrow. I just want to chill and destress. I need to sort out everything that is going on now, so that i am prepared of how i am going to address the issue when i see them on Monday.

So sorry for the lack of updates. If you dont know, i have been buying a lot of scrap stuff that my Dad 'claims i can set up a shop' but yet i have been super duper lazy to do anything. The most recent stuff done was to make notebooks and display items for friends during Christmas day. Unfortunately, i was unable to take pictures of the notebooks because i stayed up till 3.40 am on Christmas eve and i forgot to take the pictures. In any case, the following was inspired by this picture of Kate.

Haha. Kate's picture reminded me of the princess and the frog. Dont ask me why but i ended up finding really cool frames from ikea.

I love it, they are like mini frames which i can put small pictures inside to use them as great gifts for friends. Thanks for looking. Hoping to do one more layout before the birthday arrives. Wanted to mark that '1 year older' journey. (:

School is starting. Will be scrapping less, considering that i have 30 periods this year. Wow..... okay bye. (*:

I think FB hates me! it does not allow me to upload the pictures without crashing my firefox. Darn it! Haha. But in any case, i am back from Hong Kong and i took quite some time to recover since i had a couple of 'cg' outings i had to attend. (which i had the most fun with) I realised that spending time with them always puts my heart at ease knowing that there are no boundaries of who i need to be. I can be myself and that is all that matters.

I have not been scrapping for 2 weeks. I just left this layout on the table and left for the Kuantan trip. It was a rather memorable trip where there were so much to learn and see. But lets just say i am not a big fan of the outdoor. i hurt myself (toenail got cut deeply), food got snatched by wild monkeys and i had to overcome my fear of heights of climbing a cockpit karst! Haha. Will share the pictures soon.

Anyway, i have been wanting to scrap a scenic LO in relation to God. I have been scrapping so much on friends and family but truly, i have always wanted to scrap about my relationship with God at different stages of my life. Right now, i must say that i have come a long way since the beginning of this year. There were so many moments where i felt that i was so far away from him and He was no longer in sight. But it is my prayer that i will be still in the midst of all these tribulations and to trust only because He is God and he has a perfect purpose for my life.

I also had this really interesting talk about religion among my friends recently. I must admit that there were a lot of questions that i needed to ponder about and i realised that at the end it is so important to have respect for my friends' religions and just to be open and senstive in all aspects. (:

Okay, i am off to Hong Kong next week. I hope i can do one more layout by this week. If not, take care! (:

Warning! This is going to be a rather long post! Really cold day today, dont you think? Managed to finish the album and i am so proud of myself because of the amount of effort put in. Okay, so as i said before. I used the farm fresh papers and decided to do the album based on the Old Macdonald's Song. I am sure everyone should know it.

The purpose was to create a song book based on that song because kate is at this age right now, who simply loves reading books. She is such a bookworm. She likes to pester us to read her books and she can sit down for ages looking at the pictures and flipping the books. She is also extremely brilliant in pointing out the different animals in books. So this was purely inspired by Kate's Books to create a similar song book for her.

Did i mention, that she absolutely loves taking out 'hidden pages' from the story books to see what is inside? So that was what i tried to do. Using the 7 gypsies cards and overlaying it with farm fresh papers, added a brad so that it would be easier for her to pull out the hidden page. Inside consists of the 2nd part of the song. So as you can see, i stamped every single letter to the song and i nearly died. But i got to admit that it was a rather enjoyable process.

I just love that i did something educational with Scrapbooking.

Managed to sit down and clear my scrap desk. it is always in a mess. Bought more storage facilities and packed them all nicely. I am going to get a new scraptable soon with drawers. I am so excited. My table is practically bending. It must be from all the weight. HAHA. (: Some pictures:

One more thing before i end. Did i tell you how much i love the TPC brads? I was so thankful when i saw it on the shelf yesterday. I tried to find high and low for them but the store said it was sold out. I was so shocked to see it on the shelf yesterday. Yipee. :D
