A year of gratitude

This year, I was determined to start with this in mind : A year of gratitude. As I reflected all the events that happened this year, I am thankful for the following things:
  • A great year at school
  • Health
  • Mum's medical results
  • Great Friends
  • Invitation to join Crate Paper
Leaving you with some of my favourite layouts from this year... There will be some great news coming up, so stay tuned.

Happy New Year, everyone! See you in a little bit, 2014.

Merry Christmas

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls.Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights" (Hab 3:17-19)

A simple smile. A joy to love others. A hope for the bleak future. The people that I visted in Chiang Mai literally lived on the verse above. Though they have nothing, but yet they have strength, compassion and courage to live on.

A simple saying of 'God loves you' or A simple willingness to hear about the Gospel. They listened and they were moved. That is truly what faith is about, believing in a God who can calm their 'storms'.

I have been truly blessed. I have learnt so much more about myself in 5 days than in 27 years of my life.

Words cant comprehend the emotions I felt and I came back in a new perspective in life. The things I used to value are no longer valuable. I want to value things that are eternal. I have a God who loves me. Thats enough. That is truly enough.

May we all find the true essence of Christmas this year.
Here's wishing you all the joys of the season.
Merry Christmas.

Bundled Up those Christmas Memories

This week, Crate Paper is dedicating space to holiday pinboards - most of which include the familiar Bundled Up Collection, based on inspiration from Pinterest. Be sure to head down to the blog today, where I featured two of these projects below.

I certainly draw much of my inspiration from Pinterest these days. The possibilities are endless and I hope it inspires you too, even as you embark on your Christmas projects this season. I will be heading to Chiang Mai tomorrow.

I am feeling anxious yet excited. May Philippians 2 serve as a reminder to me, on servanthood. Let me serve others in the joy of Christ. Do pray for journey's mercies.

Have a great week ahead.

Video of the Month (December)

It's that time of the month again. As promise, I would be bringing you one video a month, showcasing a project that I have completed. This time around, it is a layout using the Close Knit collection by Crate Paper.

Watch my short video below and see how I incooperate multiple photos, build layers and mix a variety of embellishments to compliment my photos. Also, see my simple technique of creating paint splatters on the page.

Enjoy!

Tis the season

I cant believe that Christmas is approaching in less than 3 weeks. I cant wait for the celebrations to get started. I have been slacking a little too much recently and perhaps that is what the holidays bring to me : Rest. It has been a relaxing time catching up with sleep, dramas and with friends. I am loving it ! Hence on the scrapping front, it has been rather slow moving. I have been busy catching up on assignments and once those were done, I finally had the chance to play with new CHA products. Yeah, its about time to catch up on that too right!

So here are some completed layouts that I can show for now..

Daily Flash finally hit the stores and I managed to grab some of them before they were gone. So even if you dont do Project Life, there is always room to mix and match and place them on the cards. These square cards are perfect on a page, simply by dressing them up with a mix of cardboards and stickers. You could leave some of them the way they are and they can be perfect too.

Then, I finally had time to make some Christmas layouts. Using the latest Bundled Up and Silent Night collections...

Awwww... I am simply loving these Christmas-y photos. They do warm my heart. Well before I go, do look forward to my Christmas Crate Paper post coming by next week. I will be sure to post a link once it is out. For now, a sneak of what I will be showcasing..

Have a great week ahead.

MWL December Blog Hop

Wah! Another month has passed and it is time for another blog hop with the MadewithLove DTs. This time around, we got to work on christmas products and papers for the festive holidays. I am so happy that my favourite season is here, dont you?

First up, a layout using the latest MME, BoBunny and Webster Pages Christmas lines. I am so in love with the bright festive colours. I must admit I hardly do Christmas layouts but these Disney photos that i took in HK made it a must to scrap about it!

Using the remaining papers I had, I got a headstart with my Christmas cards. Here is one, using the scraps that I had. Notice that confetti pocket? Jo gave me one some time back and I decided that it will come in handy with this card. Nothing beats a good old shaker card!

Be sure to head to the rest of the other DTs' blog for some Christmas inspiration.

Review : Hong Kong 2013

This city never fails to warm my heart, each time I visit it. No doubt, it is my favourite place in the world. Maybe it is hard to believe and some say it is pretty much the same as Singapore but nothing beats the culture, the vibrancy, the food, the shopping and the people.

This time around, it was the second trip with my colleagues. A little different than the first - laughters, enjoyment, tears and above all, friendship. I am glad I saw different sides of my friends, I am glad we worked out our differences and I have come to know them better.

A trip is how you define it. I am glad we made it through, stronger than ever.

Oh ! And did i mention? I came back as a rebel. Got some cool hair extensions and I am planning to keep it until school reopens. Haha. How do you find the new look?

Have a great week ahead.

Video of the Month (November)

Hello everyone! I am back and starting with a new series for this blog. As some of you know, I have started venturing into the world of video editing. It has been tough work, working on camera angles and editing the videos thereafter. It is a work in progress and all of this hard work only means one thing. I do want to show you more than what I normally do and hopefully with videos, it gives you a better idea on my scrapbook process.

So starting from November, I would be bringing you one video per month, on a project that I am working on. Do let me know your honest feedback and if there are good tips for me to improve on, I would love to hear about it too.

It is not perfect, as you can see. But I certainly hope it inspires you today to start being creative and scrapbook away. :D

I will be back with a little bonus video this week. Enjoy for now.
Happy Sunday.

MWL Nov DT Assignment

It is that time of the month again. The Made with Love DTs got their kits a few weeks back and have been busy preparing our assignment. I hope you love what you see! I picked out a really tough kit as I really wanted to challenge myself to work on colors that I usually avoid. I tried to work around with what I had and stayed positive in how I approach the collection.

First up, I did a set of travel tags that I thought would be nice as bookmarks for my travel journal. The wildflower collection by Carta Bella has such lovely travel themed elements like cameras and arrows.

Up next, I made a layout and the inspiration behind the colors came from the photo. I simply adore this cute photo of K and B. The colors of their dresses match perfectly to this collection. Lots of layering, sprinkles of sequins and ink splatters and mixture of wood elements. See that cute butterfly? That's from a Bo Bunny collection.

A good tip in working with bold colours in a collection would be to balance them with a neutral background like black or white. They do make those bold colours pop more, dont you think?

Be sure to hop by these talented DTs' blogs for more inspiration this month:

Have a great weekend ahead.

All is good

Hey all, back with another quick post. Life has been good thus far. Not much has changed since the last post but I am pretty much preparing to wind down and enjoy the rest of the year. I cant wait, only 2 more weeks before flying off to HK. Can time come any faster? I have been trying to scrap more but somehow, catchin up on television dramas have taken priority.

In any case, I will be back shortly with my FIRST ever VIDEO on a scrapbook layout. Do anticipate it, wont you? It is not perfect but I am certainly going to work over it this holiday.

Sharing some layouts I have done, that I've yet to post it here...

Have a great week ahead! :D
